Model built from a kit by Model Shipways, completed in 2013. Model is at 1/4" scale (1:48) and is constructed of basswood, pretty much a straight kit build. Friezes included in the kit were too big for the model, so I used artwork supplied by the kit designer, Chuck Passaro, and printed it, slightly reduced, onto decal paper.
I wasn't initially excited when I received the kit, but once construction was well underway, I found the kit to be a challenging and a very enjoyable build that I think turned out quite nice in the end. |
